What I should know about Landlord and Tenant Law

Landlords and tenants are governed by the Residential Tenancies Act, a provincial law.
The Residential Tenancies Act sets out the rights and obligations of both landlords and

The Clinic works in the area of landlord/tenant law. We can assist tenants with a

Matters that fall under the Social Housing Reform Act

*If the only reason the tenant is being evicted is due to rent arrears because they cannot pay the rent, the matter is referred to the Landlord/Tenant Duty Counsel

To avoid conflict of interest situations, the Clinic represents tenants only. The Clinic
does not represent tenants in situations that involve a co-tenant.
