As a community legal clinic based in Cornwall, Ontario, Roy McMurtry Legal Clinic provides free legal advice and services to low income residents. Services are available in both English and French to those living in the counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry.
Roy McMurtry Legal Clinic is funded by Legal Aid Ontario and is part of a legal network comprising 79 provincial legal clinics. We are a non-profit corporation overseen by a board of directors based within the community.

The History
Numerous industries opened in Cornwall in the 1840s. Among the first major manufacturers to locate in Cornwall were the Stormont Dundas Canada Cotton Mills. The first successful installation of electric incandescent lamps enclosed in glass globes was completed at the Stormont Dundas Canada Cotton Mills, in the fall of 1882.
